Edwin Martinez is an interdisciplinary artist whose work explores the infinite possibilities through various artistic realms. His journey began as a musician playing trumpet with different groups around the city in venues and festivals ranging from the House of Blues to the Taste of Chicago. Quickly learning the ins and outs of event production, sound engineering, photography, videography, and graphic design while still working on his music career allowed his work to convey a greater message through the arts. He strives to remain especially active in under resourced communities sharing his experience and skills as a teaching artist to help inspire others around him.
Phillip J. Olazaba has been a musician since a very young age. Growing up in the Back of The Yards neighborhood he started off on the electric bass in middle school and eventually advancing to the guitarrón in high school. From there he began playing with a mariachi and his love of performance grew. He continued to perform while studying to be a music educator where he mastered all of the instruments within mariachi. He then transferred his appreciation of mariachi to his students where he currently teaches 3rd-8th graders mariachi music as an after school program. Phillip is still very active in the mariachi scene as a violin player for Mariachi Cuatro Vientos based in Chicago.
