Event Summary
"Fashion can be used as a cultural translator and a tool against colonisation; it re-establishes the balance between symbols, stories and different worlds through style." - Stella Jean

A Different Vibe is proud to present The Black Wear Affair, a celebration of black designers, black own fashion companies, and the long history of the black experience in America. Black owned fashion has exploded over the years providing us with a myriad of styles and designs that tell our story from our experience.

In Chicago alone, we have brands such Leaders 1354, Phli Life, Fashion Geek, Succezz, The Silver Room, Product of Chicago, Hey Windy, Fat Tiger, RSL Chicago, Reformed School, K-Fleye Designs, just to name a few that are establishing an international footprint in the fashion industry. To the backdrop of Hip-Hop, Rnb, Afrobeats, and more rock your favorite black owned clothing and celebrate our rich history in fashion to kick off Black History Month 2023.
