The AAUL HBCU Basketball Classic is a premier annual event celebrating Historically Black Colleges and Universities, highlighting athletic excellence and fostering community engagement. The two-day event, hosted at the Austin Convention Center, features top HBCU teams competing in thrilling matchups such as the Conference Challenge and the Battle of the Border. The AAUL HBCU Basketball Classic showcases the talent and culture of HBCUs while supporting student development both on and off the court.

The Conference Challenge will showcase teams from the Red River Athletic Conference facing off against the newly named HBCU Athletic Conference (formerly the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference) in a 5-game series. Fans can look forward to 4 Men’s NAIA games and 1 Women’s NAIA game, highlighting top talent and fierce competition.

In The Battle of the Border, don’t miss the Oklahoma vs Texas showdown as Langston University, the 2023 NAIA National Runner-Up, represents Oklahoma, and Paul Quinn College represents Texas.

Parking Details
Make your way to the Austin Convention Center in the heart of downtown with 1,600+ parking spaces close by. On either side of the venue, you can find a space in one of our two parking garages. Go to 201 East 2nd St. (1,000 spaces) with garage entrances located on Brazos or San Jacinto – there is no garage entrance on 2nd St. – or 601 East 5th St. (685 spaces). The 5th and 2nd Street parking garages are cashless facilities, and only accept credit/debit cards as payment of parking fees.

Parking at the Austin Convention Center Garages is primarily for attendees of events at the convention center. There is no complimentary parking.
