Equiticity is a racial equity movement, operationalizing racial equity by harnessing our collective power through research, advocacy, programs, and Community Mobility Rituals, to improve the lives of Black, Brown, and Indigenous people in our society.
We use CMRs as tools for the neighborhood. CMRs help trust grow at the neighborhood level and the perception of violence goes down. When more people are willing to walk and ride their bikes, our streets become vibrant and have the potential of reducing violence in our neighborhoods.
Does anyone in the crowd know the Chicago motto? Urbs in Horto (City in a Garden). Chicago is a beautiful city with an abundance of parks.
This is the Magic of Music Ride Series: Equiticity will host six community bicycle rides, focusing on the boulevards and neighborhoods connecting the parks, and connecting directly to the music moving Chicago. Each ride will have its own musical theme and focus on a particular style of music, and we will have mini dance parties along the way.
