"Days of the One Hundred" Community Service Campaign

There are several initiatives planned to assist NYC residents who may be experiencing difficult times. Three DOTOH projects are below please sign-up for at least one of them.

Volunteers Needed


Annual Resource Fair and Suit Giveaway:

 
Date & Time: February 11th from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm
Location: Union Baptist Church in Harlem
Population: 500 men in transition (re-entry, unhoused, or otherwise in need)
Service: Distribution of suits, coats, and shirts; 25+ resource providers; workshops
Volunteer Opportunity: Brothers are needed to donate suits and other items, sort clothing, set up, greet guests, help guests select and try suits, and break down.


Please join the ONE HUNDRED BLACK MEN New York for our 3rd Annual Resource Fair and Suit
Giveaway. All reentry and justice impacted men and their friends and family are strongly encouraged to attend.

- Speak and network with the major organizations providing training, employment opportunities, and other wraparound services necessary to achieve success in your employment and vocational goals!

- Receive a new or gently used suit and other apparel!

- Health wellness information and screenings

- FREE onsite screenings in the Mount Sinai/Robert F. Smith Prostate Cancer Mobile Unit

OHBM Cares Packs: 
OHBM will assemble and distribute drawstring bags containing boxers,
socks, a tee shirt, and toiletries.
 
Date & Time: 
Friday February 10th @ OHBM Office (Pack)  
Sunday, February 12th 
Saturday, February 17th between 9:00 am to 6:00 pm (times will vary)

Location: Men's shelters in all boroughs; Staten Island is the priority site for this service
Population: 500 unhoused men living in shelters or on the street
Service: Presentation and distribution of OHBM Care Packs
Volunteer Opportunity: Brothers are needed to sponsor OHBM Cares Packs, pack care bags
(in the office on 2/10), visit shelters, and distribute packs

Book Distribution and Read-in:
 
Date & Time: Week of February 20th from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm (Date to be confirmed)

Location: Madison Square Boys and Girls Club in the Bronx (to be confirmed)
Population: 50 elementary and middle school students 
Service: Distribute book packages, conduct small group workshops
Volunteer Opportunity:

OMOREDE Rites of  Passage  Black History Workshop:
 
Date & Time: Friday, February 17th from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm 

Location: PS/MS 194 in the Bronx
Population: 10-20 middle school students 
Service: Conduct small group workshops on Black History
Volunteer Opportunity: Speak to students about Black History and create a vision board or coat-of-arms

OMOREDE Rites of Passage  Black History Workshop High School:
 
Date & Time: TBD 
Location: Innovation in Arts and Media Hgh School in Canarsie, Brooklyn
Population: 30 high school students 
Service: Conduct small group workshops on Black History
Volunteer Opportunity: Speak to students about Black History and civic engagement and create a vision board or coat-of-arms
