House Dance RX presents “Free Your Style” – A wellness focused exchange for afro-house, afrobeat and amapiano music fans.
Join Kaye V. Love, long time house dance aficionado, seasoned house dance student, holistic wellness practitioner and life/business coach, in this freedom experience where she'll introduce participants to the fundamentals of freestyle house dance, then facilitate an exchange where participants are encouraged to explore and share their own unique movements in the dance or wellness practices that helps them experience that sense of “release” house heads all crave from house music and dance.
"Free Your Style" is open to all ages over 18, all styles of dance, and all skill levels. If you can groove, this is the place for you. If you want to experiment with movement to your favorite house music, this is the place for you. If you want a non-judgmental, non-political space to learn new things, this is the space for you.
As your facilitator and host, Kaye is committed to fostering a safe space and community where all races, genders, sexual expressions, skill levels, and abilities, can learn, share and benefit from an environment that is supportive and uplifting, particularly for those of us who seek to utilize house dance, as a method of healing and/or managing our best mental health.
UCLA has reported in a recent study that “Conscious dance, which encourages self-discovery through unchoreographed movement, produced mental health benefits among the vast majority of participants with depression, anxiety or history of trauma” https://www.uclahealth.org/news/free-moving-dance-has-healing-benefits-for-people-with-mental-health-concerns - And there is some evidence that dance can support efforts to get sober or to moderate substance use.
So, join us for this transformative dance workshop, and let's Get Free.
