Join us Thursday, February 29th & March 21st at 6:30pm for a special Haitian Folkloric Dance Workshop with Daniel Desir!

Afro-Haitian culture has made immense contributions to global music and the modern dance world. Join us for a rare opportunity to engage with Afro-Haitian folkloric dance traditions, including yanvalou, congo, and ibo. The workshop will cover fundamental movement vocabulary, and students will learn about timing, technique, and improvisation. There will be live drumming! No experience necessary.

Music Moves Chicago is Old Town School of Folk Music's place-based, youth-focused, intergenerational initiative that aims to inspire, restore, and transform communities by providing access to high quality arts education, concerts, and workforce readiness through partnerships with community organizations, schools, and other institutions located in South and West side neighborhoods.
