HBCU SpringComing Innovation Lab is an exciting one-day experience designed to highlight Birmingham's wonderfully talented community. Structured as a "startup in a day," it gives you the opportunity to work on teams that generate ideas to solve challenges by the City of Birmingham. Operated by Amplify 4 Good, attendees are separated into teams and given 2-4 hours to build a mockup/prototype of their solution and approach to the shared problem. **Limited Space Available**

Friday, May 27th Sips & Sounds: The Quad

Bakers Row Parking Garage, 60 14th St., South, Birmingham, AL 32533

As our official kickoff to the weekend, this event brings the magic of the vineyard to the city, with live music to help set the mood. Featured sommelier and Spelman graduate Kelly Mitchell of Kelly Mitchell Wine will host a tasting of her choice Black owned wineries, and insider tips. The night will also include a DJ and live performance.

Saturday, May 28th: USTA Family Tennis Daze

Hosted by the United States Tennis Association (USTA) Southern Region

George Ward Park Tennis Courts, 331 16th Ave. South, Birmingham, AL 35205

Engaging HBCU Alumni and the Birmingham community in fun tennis event for youth and adults. The day will include, a junior tennis exhibition, a tennis invitational from Alabama HBCUs, arts & crafts, a tennis clinic and much more!

Saturday, May 28th: School Daze

If Saturday was a movie, it would be “School Daze”! We are bringing “the yard" to Railroad Park drawing in thousands of attendees from across the nation.  As one of the most highly visible and highly-trafficked events of the weekend, this is an amazing opportunity to participate in the festivities. Get ready for guest DJs, games, pop up tennis matches, vendor tents, food trucks and more!

Saturday, May 28th The Kickback: “A Dope Comedy Show”

After Saturday’s sunset, “The Kickback” comedy show commences – functioning exactly as described – a relaxed atmosphere filled with laughter alongside your favorite people.

Complete with amazing food and a musical journey reminiscent of freshman year, guests are guaranteed to get an experience beyond what their social media feeds can handle. This is the quintessential farewell (for now) brunch of the weekend!
