Join us at NSBE's 2025 Annual Convention in Chicago, IL, as we honor the 50th anniversary of the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE).

This year’s theme, "Heritage and Vision," celebrates the profound cultural legacy and groundbreaking achievements of Black engineers and technologists from the Black Diaspora and African nations. Together, we will reflect on NSBE’s rich history and look forward to the future contributions of Black professionals in STEM.

We’re not just celebrating—we’re making a difference. Proceeds from the evening will support the Edward E. Barnette Jr. Community Impact Scholarship, ensuring your presence and participation create lasting impact.

Event Details

The goal of the Edward E. Barnette Jr. Community Impact Scholarship Program is to recognize outstanding contributions to the community along the entire STEM pipeline and throughout NSBE’s membership. This scholarship supports educational objectives within the High School NSBE Jr., Collegiate, and Professional member demographics.

Previous recipients of this scholarship have included:

  • High school seniors aspiring to be engineers,
  • Collegiate engineering students, and
  • Professional members seeking advanced engineering degrees.

These dedicated members are actively involved in their communities, excelling academically, succeeding professionally, and embodying NSBE’s mission. They exemplify the purpose of the Edward E. Barnette Jr. Community Impact Scholarship — the IMPACT Scholarship.

Soldier Field, United Club is one of Chicago’s most prestigious event spaces, offering stunning views of the lakefront and the city skyline. Located within the iconic Soldier Field, the United Club provides a blend of modern amenities and historic charm, creating a truly memorable setting for our gala. The venue features ample space for dining, mingling, and celebrating the achievements of NSBE members in a formal and elegant atmosphere.
