DPR and The Hike Crew have teamed up to curate two historical interpretive hikes for DPR's Black Environmentalist Month, Hiking through History. Learn about the racial and cultural history of DC parks with like-minded hikers.
Whether you're a seasoned hiker or just starting out, this event is perfect for all skill levels. Our experienced guides will lead the way, ensuring everyone has an enjoyable experience and most importantly - no hiker is left behind! In partnership with the Anacostia Park and Community Collaborative (APACC), two lucky hikers will receive a brand new iPad - must register to be considered for the lottery.
Event Schedule:
10a: Meetup at Anacostia Recreation Center - 1800 Anacostia Drive SE
10:30a: Hike begins at Anacostia River Trial (~3 miles)
12:30p: Announcement for Lottery Winners
There is no age limit. All parents/caregivers are required to accompany youth ages 16 and under. Street parking is available yet limited. Carpooling is strongly recommended.
