Rogers is an Amazon #1 best-selling author of The Making of a Good Man: Lessons in Life and Integrity, where he shares his personal journey to inspire young men to live with integrity, resilience, and purpose. After retiring as a Lieutenant and Supervisor at the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy, Roy continues to mentor individuals and lead self-defense courses for women in local communities.
Roy’s professional career outside of law enforcement includes being a National Certified Personal Trainer through the American Fitness Professional Association (AFPA). He has devotedly served as a Health and Wellness Coach at the Northwest YMCA in Irmo, SC, for more than two decades. Additionally, Roy is the CEO of Double R Strong Bar LLC, the company behind his innovative fitness equipment, the Double R Strong Bar. He also mentors high school athletes, many of whom have earned state and national recognition.
Before his retirement, Roy dedicated 29 years to law enforcement, including 3 years at the Greenville County Detention Center, where he rose from Detention Officer to Training Corporal. At the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy, he supervised the Detention Unit and served as a key member of a specialized team responsible for training and graduation ceremonies. In 2016, Roy was honored as Supervisor of the Year; for his commitment to the law enforcement community. Roy is also deeply involved in community service, feeding the homeless, and supporting other charitable causes. A proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Roy lives by the principle of putting God first in all that he does, which has guided both his professional and personal life.
Outside of work, Roy enjoys traveling, exercising, and spending time with his wife, Marsha, and their two dogs. Through his varied work and service, Roy continues to inspire others and live out his passion for giving back.
