           PARADE PARTICIPANTS NEEDED NOW!!! - Deadline Dec 15th

            REMEMBER, MLK DAY IS "A DAY ON, NOT A DAY OFF"

The Collin County branch of the NAACP is proud to announce the return of the MLK parade to Collin County.  Our theme this year is "Living the Dream: It's Up to Me".  We invite all groups, organizations, and businesses to join us as we reflect on the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The parade will be held in the historic Douglass Community in Plano and will culminate with a community activity in partnership with the Plano African American Museum. Ed Drain, Plano Police Chief, will be the Grand Marshal.

Event Details
DATE:  JANUARY 15TH
 
TIME:  10 A.M. 
 
LOCATION:  The parade route will begin in the historic Douglass community at the mural located at Avenue I & 13th in Plano.  The parade will proceed to north on Avenue G to 16th Street. East on 16th Street to Avenue H.  South on Avenue H to 13th Street. The parade will end at Avenue I & 13th Street.  

CELEBRATION:  After the parade, join us for a community celebration at Avenue I & and 13th Street. There will be activities for children and adults with prizes and a special project with the Plano African American Museum.
