With an extraordinary gift from ComEd, Equiticity is promoting racial equity and mobility justice by expanding access to climate-friendly modes of transportation in the predominantly Black neighborhood of North Lawndale on Chicago's Westside. Stipends from MOF will help residents purchase conventional bicycles, electric bicycles, electric cargo bikes, and electric vehicles. The program intends to help grow mobility, while also reducing carbon emissions, lowering transportation costs, and improving employment outcomes.
The MOF stipend structure is as follows:
$350 for the purchase of a conventional bicycle.
$750 for the purchase of an electric bicycle.
$1500 for the purchase of an electric cargo bicycle.
$3500 for the purchase of an electric vehicle.
Applicants must apply for the stipend during the open application period and purchase their climate-friendly transportation by May 31, 2023. For more information, check out our MOF webpage at equiticity.org/mof.
