Do Better, Reach Higher, and Get More Together...
By attending the Men of Color Youth Summit and unlock your potential!

The CMSD Men Of Color sHaping Academics Network (an employee resource group of the district) is pleased to extend an invitation for you to participate in the CMSD Inaugural Empowerment & Transformative Men of Color Youth Summit on Friday, March 31, 2023, at the East Professional Center, 1349 E 79th Street, Cleveland Ohio 44103.

Approximately 1,000 young men of color scholars from the Cleveland Metropolitan School District and other invited youth groups will take part in various types of interactive, motivational, and inspiring educational workshops. These sessions are an effort to develop the high school students as leaders and to help them see the benefit of a college education. They will also hear from dynamic panelists and impactful keynote speakers.

This event is being brought to us in part by the Morehouse College Division of Student Life, through its “Get On The Bus Empowerment Tour.” Morehouse College is one of the most prestigious HBCUs in the country and one of only four men’s colleges in the nation. This enriching experience gives Morehouse College scholars a platform that enables them to share the challenges and successes that have helped to develop them as men of Morehouse.

The empowerment tour aligns with the mission of Morehouse College, which is to develop men with disciplined minds who will lead lives of leadership and service. Even more this event collaboration supports one of the guiding principles of MOCHA by providing a positive impact in the lives and community of CMSD students.

Registration for this event is absolutely free and will include a MOCHA/Morehouse Swag Bag, t-shirt* lunch*, inspirational guest speakers, and empowering workshops on the critical issues facing men of color today, such as...
  • Character Development
  • College/Campus Life
  • Community Activism
  • Current Events/Topics of the Day
  • Entrepreneurship
  • Family Dynamics
  • Financial Literacy
  • Social Emotional Growth
We urge all participants to strive for excellence by pushing themselves further and achieving more than they ever thought possible.
