Night of Excellence: Honoring New Jersey’s Living Legends

Birthed out of the Alpha Alpha Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., the Alpha Community Center is hosting a benefit concert honoring 10  New Jersey Living Legends in order to raise funds to help fund its programs geared towards addressing the issues pertaining to public education, health and wellness, affordable housing, community economic empowerment, and youth development; to increase public awareness of such issues; and to support efforts to improve the opportunities afforded people of color in all spheres of life. 

Hosted by the incomparable Liz Black there will be performances by Melba Moore, Peter Collins, The Group Fire, Alexis Morrast and Samar Biggham.

Honorees for the evening are Melba Moore, Bro Rev. Dr. David Jefferson, Esq. and Rev. Lady Linda Jefferson, Dr. Linda Caldwell Epps, Bro Mayor Ras J. Baraka, Bro Marvin McCurtis, Mary Bentley Lamar, Dr. Donna Marable, Titessa Smith, Donita Devance and JD Williams.
