Event Details
Juneteenth – also known as Freedom Day, Jubilee Day, Liberation Day, and Emancipation Day – is a holiday celebrating the emancipation of those who had been enslaved in the United States. It is a day, a week, and in some areas a month marked with celebrations, guest speakers, picnics and family gatherings. It is a time for reflection and rejoicing.  
 
Junior One Hundred of the One Hundred Black Men in partnership with MOWER is organizing a Juneteenth Teach-In. This conference is a time for assessment, self-improvement and for planning the future around Juneteenth and the history behind slavery. There will be subject matter experts on these key issues: Voting Rights, Gun Control, Abortion, Climate Change, Police/Community Relation.
