Eight years strong, and our beats, our moves, our community has never felt more alive. Introducing YEAR 8: Dance UNBOUND, a tribute to our unwavering spirit and a toast to the many grooves ahead. On September 4th, we invite you to a celebration of movement, of freedom, and of our collective soul. Here, every moment is an affirmation, every song a call to come alive and embody our truths.
The iconic Promontory, our home space for the last 8 years, will light up with the mastery of our Party Noire DJs: k.tea, Diaspora, Rae Chardonnay, and guest talents DJs Khali Melon, AJ + ctrlzora. This is our love letter to Black queer dance, an echo of our history, our present, and the future we're shaping.
As your groove architects, we've crafted an experience + space that is far more than a party. It's a revolution in motion. A space bursting with Black queer, femme, trans, and #genderexpansive ALIVENESS. Get a fit off, assemble your chosen kin, and ready yourself for our orbit of #BlackJoy another again.
The Promontory is fully ADA accessible with an elevator available and seating available. There are two gender-neutral bathrooms. Water stations can be found on the corner of the bar. D’Frantz Smart ([email protected]), the Party Noire community care and culture lead, can assist you with accommodation requests or send an e-mail to [email protected] to make accommodations.
A heads up: we'll have photographers capturing the magic. If you'd rather stay out of the limelight, just give our photographers or the community care team a nod.
COVID Safety is a communal effort and we ask your support in a commitment to community care + safety. We ask you that you are masked indoors when you are not consuming food or beverages. Space air purifiers will be provided by Clean Air Club, an organization ensuring accessible and clean air for Chicago Artists (support their amazing work). We will have two hand sanitization stations throughout the venue.
The #PartyNoire community is an inclusive cultural hub celebrating Black femmes, QWOC, + Black womanhood along the gender spectrum + holds space, especially for queer, trans + genderqueer, and gender non-conforming Black people. We create experiences + intentional space for uplifting + affirming the lives of Black women.
When in this intersectional orbit of #BlackJoy, our space, love, uplift and make SPACE for ALL Black Joy. Co-Founders nick and Rae are divinely connected in their mission to affirm, uplift, and celebrate Black womanhood along the gender spectrum.
