Event Summary

Join artist Jamilla Okubo for an interactive collage workshop where participants will create their own unique book cover designs. Inspired by Jamilla’s work on the Harlem Renaissance book series compilation for Penguin UK, this workshop explores storytelling through visual design and collage.

Through guided exercises, participants will learn how to use color, texture, and imagery to craft compelling book covers. Whether reimagining a favorite book or inventing one of their own, attendees will experiment with mixed-media techniques using patterned paper, fabric scraps, magazine clippings, and paint markers.
