Event Details

Genesis Villarreal is a food enthusiast and self/family-taught chef originally from Orlando, FL. Much of Villarreal’s cooking is influenced and informed by her American Southern and Panamanian roots. Villarreal has always had an affinity for cooking since she could remember and has been in the kitchen since the age of 12. Villarreal began her career in professional kitchens after relocating to DC almost two years ago. During her time in DC, Villarreal has been honing her culinary skills at Michelin-starred restaurants in the area.


Villarreal aims to create dishes that pay homage to her diverse cultural background while also implementing innovative and unique flavor pairings inspired by her favorite cuisines and fine dining background.


Chef Genesis is looking forward to serving some of the flavors near and dear to her at her debut pop-up, “Sancocho Kitchen” at Shanklin Hall.
