Join us for our FREE Afro-Puerto Rican Bomba Workshop with Lauren Brooks! Bomba is an Afro-Puerto Rican traditional music and dance form that has survived over 400 years. Like other African diasporic performance styles, Bomba features improvised expression and collaboration between dancers, vocalists, and drummers. Participants will enjoy learning fundamental dance vocabulary, technique, and timing!
For the winter session, workshops are on the 1st Thursday on the month, February 1 and March 7, from 6:30-8:00pm at Dorchester Arts + Housing Collaborative: 1456 E 70th St, Chicago, IL 60637.
