The Alpha Excel Conference focuses on two of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated's National Programs - Project Alpha and Go to High School, Go to College.
Project Alpha is a National program designed in partnership with the March of Dimes to accomplish the following objectives:
-Share knowledge by commbatting ignorance and fear with factual information
-Change attitudes by providing motivation towards positive changes in sexual behavior;
-Provide skills by creating a sense of empowerment and self-esteem.
Go to High School, Go to College is a National program designed to encourage advancement to higher education, encourage academic achievement, and build self-esteem. This program hopes to fulfill the following objectives:
-Improve Self-esteem;
-Encourage participants to complete high school and pursue higher education;
-Increase social awareness and problem-solving skills to make responsible decisions.
The Conference will take place on the campus of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Young Males ages 12-18 will receive information on topics such as College Readiness, Professionalism, and Success Planning.

-Self-Esteem: 10:00 - 10:50 AM
Project Alpha
-Protecting Yourself and Your Partner: 11:00 - 11:50 AM
Lunch with Vendors and College Recruiters: 12:00 - 1:15 PM
Go to High School, Go to College
-Time Management, Goal Setting: 1:25 - 2:00 PM
Interactive Sessions (Includes information from Go to High School, Go to College & Project Alpha): 2:00 - 3:00 PM
Participants break into smaller groups (20-30 minute rotations)
-Community Gardening
-Basic components of a vehicle
-Hygiene, Male Grooming Skills
-Violence and Prevention
General Session / Close Out
Group overview / reflective discussion; Outline and reinforce applicable scenarios; Kahoot session to reinforce information: 4:00 - 4:30 PM
