Beginner’s Yoga, Breathwork & Meditation in the Park

If you’re new to yoga, meditation, or breathwork and looking for a gentle way to begin, this class is for you. We’ll move slowly through a Hatha-Vinyasa based practice, allowing time to settle into each pose, connect with the breath, and ease into mindfulness.

Unlike the more fast-paced Vinyasa style commonly practiced in the West, Hatha yoga focuses on building a strong foundation by emphasizing proper alignment, breath awareness, and intentional movement. Traditionally practiced in India, Hatha serves as the root of many modern yoga styles, and for beginners, it is an essential starting point.

Over the years, I’ve seen many students come into yoga with injuries caused by misalignment—often because they started with styles like Vinyasa before understanding the foundational postures. Without a strong base in Hatha, it’s easy to develop bad habits that can lead to strain or injury over time. This class will help you build that solid foundation, so you can practice safely and confidently as you progress in your yoga journey.

Because this is a beginner-friendly class, there will be plenty of visual demonstrations, modifications of poses, and hands-on assisting for those who would like it. Whether you’re working with limited mobility, flexibility challenges, or just want to feel more confident in your movements, I’ll be there to guide you every step of the way.

During Savasana, you’ll be guided into deep relaxation with the soothing sounds of an ocean drum and Himalayan sound bowls. These instruments carry powerful healing properties—Himalayan sound bowls create vibrations that help calm the nervous system, balance energy, and promote deep inner peace, while the ocean drum mimics the rhythmic sounds of the sea, helping to release tension and bring a sense of grounding.

This space is open to everyone—all bodies, all levels, no experience needed. There’s no “good” or “bad” in yoga. Just showing up and being present is enough.

Feel free to bring water and a mat or blanket to practice on, but it’s not required. You’re welcome to ground yourself directly on the earth if that feels right for you.
