Black History Jeopardy:
Welcome to The Black History Jeopardy game created by the A. B.etter Way Productions. The game, very. much like the television show, is a spin on the classic Jeopardy game show with questions about Black History & Culture! Participants will be presented with answers presented on the game board display and they must provide the appropriate question as the response.
With information provided in reference material, study groups, and/or prior knowledge and experiences, participants will be guided by the host through a variety of topics around culture, history, innovations, relevant pop culture, education and more.
Learning Objectives:
After this activity, participants will be able to:
- Spotlight and celebrate the achievements that African Americans have accomplished in this country, despite the history of racism and oppression.
- Develop critical intellectual skills, an engagement with issues of social justice, and an awareness of how race, gender, sexuality and class operate in the lives of peoples of the African Diaspora.
- Join in meaningful discussion and offer additional context and value to the history of African Americans.
- Improve on team communication effectiveness that will ignite the spirit of achievement and perform with excellence.
