Your blood donation can make a significant difference for those battling severe illnesses such as sickle cell, anemia, cancer, and heart disease.
African Americans, are critical to meeting the need for blood, especially types O negative and O positive. O-negative blood is the universal red cell donor and is in high demand because it's often used in emergencies. O-positive is the most common blood type and is also in high demand. B-positive blood is also important for treating people with sickle cell disease and thalassaemia, which are more common in Black communities.
