Join us for an exciting in-person event, the Community Receivership & Forfeiture Training 7.0! This event is designed to provide you with valuable insights and knowledge about receivership and forfeiture in a fun and interactive way.

Training Dates are, Monday, Dec 2nd, Tuesday, Dec 3rd and Wednesday, Dec 4th. From 9:00 am - 3:00 pm CST. Participants must be in attendance ALL 3 days. 

We will kick off the event with a series of engaging sessions led by industry experts. Whether you are new to this field or an experienced professional, this training is tailored to meet your needs.

Event Details

The Dearborn REALTIST Board (DRB), in conjunction with the City of Chicago, will be hosting a 3 day training session on how to become a Court Appointed Receiver in the City of Chicago.

This will be the 6th class for Receivership Training hosted by the Dearborn Realtist Board.

 -What is a Receiver?

 A judge appoints someone to oversee a property when an owner fails to do so.

 -What is Receivership?

It is a tool used to stabilize distressed properties. Receivership is the last resort for buildings that constitute a threat to public health and stability whose owners are unable or unwilling to make necessary repairs or where clear ownership cannot be established.

 -Is Receiver Training for you?

1) Do you have property management skills?

2) Do you have legal or court experience?

3) Do you have enough capital/funds to manage a property until the court approves reimbursement of paid expenses? Expenses could include: board up, small repairs, large repairs, demolition & porch repairs, or feasibility studies.

4) Do you have good accounting and bookkeeping practices and like working with attorney's?

Requirements for this class:

You must attend ALL 3 sessions from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm

December 2nd, 3rd, and 4th

Each attendee must be registered. Each attendee will have a registration pass. Identification must match registration.

Lunch provided daily.
