Alando Tucker is the Director of Special Projects & Strategy at East Lake Management & Development Corp, wielding a wealth of expertise across various domains within the company. As a key member of the executive team, Mr. Tucker spearheads multifaceted initiatives spanning marketing, strategic communications, community engagement, business expansion, fundraising, and fostering robust stakeholder relationships. Prior to his tenure at East Lake, Alando forged a remarkable trajectory from an accomplished basketball luminary to an astute business leader. He ascended as the University of Wisconsin- Madison's All-Time leading scorer and earned accolades such as the Big Ten Player of the Year before venturing into the NBA as a first-round draft pick. His decade-long professional sports career instilled core values of discipline, commitment, collaboration, and unwavering determination— qualities that transcend the realm of athletics and permeate his current ventures. Beyond his executive role at East Lake, Alando is a trailblazing entrepreneur. He co-founded an immersive tech company that strategically partnered with the NBA, driving innovation at the intersection of sports and technology. He founded a Illinois based 501c3, non-profit organization, Arcitec Foundation, aimed at empowering marginalized youth within underserved communities through sports, business, and education. A captivating motivational speaker and adept coach, Alando possesses a remarkable skill set in life skills development and new venture creation. His dynamic leadership spans diverse sectors, exemplifying his prowess as an athlete, businessman, and civic advocate. His relentless pursuit of excellence, evident in a record-breaking collegiate basketball career and esteemed NBA and international playing tenure, continues to fuel his endeavors in every facet of life. Following his athletic career, Alando made a seamless transition to academia, serving as the Director of Student-Athlete Engagement at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. His collaborative efforts with students, parents, and faculty yielded pioneering health, safety, and risk management initiatives for the athletic department. Simultaneously, he demonstrated his coaching prowess as the Interim Assistant Coach of the Division I Wisconsin men's basketball team, contributing to their triumphant Big Ten conference win in the 2019 regular season. In 2022, Alando's commitment to philanthropy led him to assume an ambassadorial role and board membership at Special Olympics Chicago, passionately supporting their charitable endeavors to reach a broader audience and make a tangible difference. Alando is a devoted family man, cherishing a fulfilling life with his wife, Krystal, and their three sons. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Immediately following this event, dads are invited to a local restaurant (TBA) for lunch, drinks, and conversation.
