Greenwood GOLF League - March 16th Match

The Greenwood GOLF Minority Club League is excited to host the first Match on March 16, 2024 at Rocky River Golf Club.
This match will include two flights (Professional and Amateur).
The Professional flight will play at the highest level. Players will compete from the back tees and will utilize the current USGA rules and guidelines for play. This field is open to the first 12 players that register.
The Amateur flight will consist of 88 golfers representing 11 minority golf clubs. All competing for the title Queen City Club Champions. The format for this match is TWO-PERSON SCRAMBLE.

Greenwood GOLF Charities: General Terms for Participating in the Minority Club League
By participating in the Greenwood GOLF Charities Minority Club League, clubs and players agree to abide by the following general terms and conditions:
1. League Eligibility:
Participation is open to golf enthusiasts from all backgrounds and skill levels that actively participate in a golf club that primarily serves minority golfers. Clubs must be registered and approved by Greenwood GOLF Charities to participate in the league.
2. League Structure:
The league will consist of a limited number of registered clubs, with each club allowed a specific number of players as determined by the league guidelines. Participating clubs must register prior to December 31 for participation in the upcoming season. Clubs joining after January 1 will be put on the wait list for next season.
3. League Rules and Regulations:
Clubs and players are required to adhere to the league rules and regulations provided by Greenwood GOLF Charities. These rules will be communicated prior to the start of the league and may cover aspects such as scoring, match format, and conduct.
4. Sportsmanship and Conduct:
All participants are expected to uphold the highest standards of sportsmanship and respect towards fellow players, officials, and the spirit of the game. Unsportsmanlike behavior will not be tolerated and may result in penalties for the club or disqualification of the club and player.
5. League Schedule:
The league schedule, including match dates and venues, will be provided in advance. Clubs are expected to adhere to the schedule and ensure timely participation.
6. Communication:
Clubs and players are required to maintain clear and consistent communication with Greenwood GOLF Charities regarding league-related matters.
7. Photo and Video Release:
Participants consent to the use of their likeness, photographs, and videos taken during league events for promotional and marketing purposes by Greenwood GOLF Charities.
8. Changes and Cancellations:
Greenwood GOLF Charities reserves the right to modify league details, including schedule and format, if necessary. In case of cancellations due to unforeseen circumstances, registered clubs will be promptly notified.
9. Liability Waiver:
Participation in the Minority Club League involves physical activity. All participants assume full responsibility for any risks, injuries, or damages that may arise during league events.
10. Compliance with Local Regulations:
Clubs and players are responsible for complying with any local regulations, including those related to COVID-19 safety measures.
By participating in the Greenwood GOLF Charities Minority Club League, clubs and players acknowledge their understanding and agreement to these general terms. These terms are subject to change, and any updates will be communicated to registered participants in a timely manner.

Greenwood GOLF Charities - Event Cancellation Policy
At Greenwood GOLF League, we prioritize the safety, enjoyment, and fair play of all participants in our league events. We understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise that require the rescheduling or cancellation of matches. As such, we have established a clear policy to handle such situations and ensure transparency and consistency in our decision-making process.
1. Match Rescheduling Criteria: Matches may be rescheduled in the event of adverse weather conditions (e.g., lightning, heavy rain, extreme heat) that pose a risk to the safety of players, spectators, and course staff. Rescheduling may also occur due to unexpected course closures, emergencies, or unforeseen situations beyond the control of the league organizers or participating golf clubs.
2. Communication and Decision Making: The decision to reschedule or cancel a match will be made collaboratively between the league organizers and the hosting golf club's management. In the event of adverse weather conditions, the final decision will be made in accordance with the policies and guidelines of the hosting golf club.
3. Timely Communication: In the case of a match rescheduling, the league organizers will communicate the decision to all participating players and team captains as soon as possible. Notification will be provided via email, text message, or phone call, depending on the urgency of the situation.
4. Consideration of Safety and Fair Play: The safety and well-being of all participants are of utmost importance. Decisions will be made with careful consideration of the safety risks posed by adverse weather conditions or other factors. Whenever possible, efforts will be made to reschedule matches to ensure fair play and equal opportunities for all teams.
This event is open to all ages.
- Players participating in the Professional flight will compete from the back tees.
- Players participating in the Amateur flight will compete from the middle tees (6200-6500 yards)
- Seniors and Ladies will compete from the forward tees (6200-5900)
