*Chandra Christmas-Rouse, an urban planner and artist living in Bronzeville; 2020 Threewalls RaDLab+Outside the Walls Artist Fellow and board member of Equiticity, will facilitate a workshop as part of her community art project entitled The Maplibs Project.
The Maplibs Project is a living atlas of the spaces that make us feel, remember and imagine community in greater Bronzeville neighborhoods. Over the past two year, Chandra has gathered Bronzeville residents to more inclusively pursue a shared vision for the future of the built environment through workshops and walking tours.
The workshop will take place at the midpoint of the BWC walk and it will ask participants to reflect on the spaces that make their neighborhood feel like a community and the feelings that those spaces create about those spaces using a Maplibs word game. The participants will share their responses and then use the responses from the word game to discuss how they connect to community spaces like the Burnham Wildlife Corridor.
