Open Capital Social
The Open Capital Social in New York City, hosted by the Black Executive Men (BEM) Capital Network, is a high-impact networking event connecting Black male General Partners (GPs) with Institutional Limited Partners (LPs) and Family Offices. Taking place at the Chelsea Walls Gallery on April 30, 2025, the evening will feature passed hors d'oeuvres, including elevated bites like sirloin brioche, paired with an open wine bar showcasing a curated palette of flavors. Specialty bottles, handpicked and opened on the hour, will complement the sophisticated yet approachable vibe, encouraging mingling and collaboration. This setup reflects BEM Capital Network’s mission to elevate Black men in private equity by providing access to capital, deal flow, and a supportive ecosystem in a dynamic, engaging environment.
Founded by Jewel Love and Jay Holmes, BEM Capital Network aims to empower 1,000 Black men to each achieve $1 billion in assets under management (AUM), addressing the stark underrepresentation of Black men in private equity, where they hold only 5% of senior-level positions. The network is a values-driven ecosystem supporting GPs, lawyers, accountants, and allocators, fostering collaboration and cultural pride in high-stakes industries. Through intentional networking and education, BEM is breaking barriers and creating pathways for Black men to thrive.
