PERMISSION 2: Languages of Liberation Laid Bare

PERMISSION is a glimpse of what melanated people look like outside of the gaze of dominant society, where they feel safe, protected and celebrated. It's a celebration and righting of the perception of Black sensuality, consent and sexuality. It is designed to show who Black and Brown people can be when they are in a safe and comfortable environment.

This exhibit is a collection of images taken by nine photographers given exclusive access to the Debauchery Ball over the last 20 years + artistic intepretations by a number of profound creatives around this theme of Black joy and sensuality. Featured again will by Kymon of Kyndred Studio, Baramesi Ra, Anthony P Roberson, Tony Smith, plus offerings from multi-disciplinary artists, Coco Elysses and ZMOQALXI .

Opening night will include a spectacular "Painted, Dark & Divine" WBR-inspired fashion show produced by Kyra Rogers, owner and designer of the new custom shoe line, "MCDXIX." This exhibit is co-curated by Jeneca Onikoyi and Khari B.

PERMISSION 2 opens July 26th and runs through September at the beautiful 345 Art Gallery. Viewings outside of the public event are by appointment only. Email: [email protected]

When you enter a Discopoetry A.E.C./Debauchery Ball (DBall) event or program, you enter an area where photography, audio, and video recording may occur.

By entering the event premises, you consent to interview(s), photography, audio recording, video recording and its/their release, publication, exhibition, or reproduction to be used for news, web casts, promotional purposes, telecasts, advertising, inclusion on websites, social media, or any other purpose by the DBall and its affiliates and representatives. Images, photos and/or videos may be used to promote similar DBall events in the future, highlight the event and exhibit the capabilities of DBall. You release Discopoetry AEC, its officers and employees, and each and all persons involved from any liability connected with the taking, recording, digitizing, or publication and use of interviews, photographs, computer images, video and/or or sound recordings.

By entering the event premises, you waive all rights you may have to any claims for payment or royalties in connection with any use, exhibition, streaming, web casting, televising, or other publication of these materials, regardless of the purpose or sponsoring of such use, exhibiting, broadcasting, web casting, or other publication irrespective of whether a fee for admission or sponsorship is charged. You also waive any right to inspect or approve any photo, video, or audio recording taken by the DBall or the person or entity designated to do so by Discopoetry A.E.C.

You have been fully informed of your consent, waiver of liability, and release before entering the event.
