Queer Fam Pride Jam FAQ

Tent location: The Pride Jam is located in the North Promenade tent just west of Pritzker Pavilion. The closest entrances are at Randolph and at Michigan. 
CTA: From the elevated lines: exit at Washington/Wabash and walk east. From the subway: exit at Lake (Red Line) or Washington (Blue Line) and walk east. Buses: 3, 4, 6, J14, 20, 56, 60, 124, 146, 147, 151, 157

Metra: Millennium Park Station at Michigan Avenue and Randolph Street, with access to the Metra Electric District and South Shore Line trains and the downtown pedway system

Bicycle: Bike parking is available on the perimeter of Grant and Millennium Parks. Divvy Bike station is located at the Chicago Cultural Center on the Michigan Avenue side

Parking: Nearby parking garages are located at Grant Park North Garage (25 N. Michigan Ave.), Grant Park South Garage (325 S. Michigan Ave.) and Millennium Park Garage & Millennium Lakeside Garage (5 S. Columbus Dr.). Pay in person at each garage location or pre-pay online for discounted parking. Mobility & accessibility:

Parking: If you enter the park through a park only entrance (C or D) and need an accessible route into the event space please see the guard where the C entrance path and the B entrance path meet (Washington and Randolph).

Wheelchair loan: Available at all Millennium Park events from the Patron Service Tent at the West walkway of the Jay Pritzker Pavilion
The North Promenade tent is wheelchair accessible. Some bench seating will be  available

Bathrooms & changing stations:

• We will have limited changing stations in the “Crawlie Corner” of our tent 
• Accessible restroom stalls are located on the east and west lower level of the Jay Pritzker Pavilion in multi-stall facilities. Additional accessible restrooms are in the McCormick Tribune - Plaza adjacent to Millennium Hall on the Michigan Avenue side of the park. There is a single stall accessible restroom on the east side of the Jay Pritzker Pavilion’s lower level.

Sensory experience:

• Amplified sound will be present throughout the event at lower decibels suitable for all ages, however please note that there will be music and talking throughout the event
• There will be no special lighting or flashing effects aside from flash photography
• There will be a Sensory Tent curated by 21 Senses where you can access headphones, earplugs, alternative seating, fidget toys and more
• For folks needing to step away from the tent for a break, we recommend visiting the surrounding grounds including the Lurie Garden just south of the Jay Pritzker Pavilion or the sculpture garden at the Art Institute of Chicago across the Nichols Bridge 

Food, Drink & comfort:

• This year, food and beverage provisions will be exclusively offered by the park district vendor. A variety of alcoholic & non-alcoholic beverages and food items will be for sale. Attendees are permitted to bring in their own snacks and beverages.

• We recommend packing whatever helps keep your family comfy: Snacks, sippy cups & bottles, hats, fans etc. For folks planning to stay for House Music Festival at 1pm, bring a blanket and anything else that will make your experience on Pritzker Pavilion lawn
• We are grateful for the support of Vacation sunscreen and will have limited supply for attendees 

Safety & security:

• There are five entrances to Millennium Park, all which will have security checkpoints with bag checks and metal detectors
• Volunteer greeters will be posted at the main entrances at Randolph and Michigan to welcome and help guide you to the Pride Jam
• We deeply understand concerns related to gathering large crowds, especially of LGBTQ+ & allied people, and have been working with the City on safety measures. Additional security has been added to the North Promenade tent and surroundings.
• We recommend creating a safety and communication plan with the people you are attending with, and keeping a charged phone and charger with you.  
• Children must be in proximity to and under the supervision of an adult at ALL TIMES
• Visit our Guest Services tent at the entrance with any questions, to report concerns, or seek support

Located in the North Promenade tent in Millenium Park, we'll kick off at 10 am with a sing-a-long and will continue until 1 p with a variety of family-focused programming.
