Before the great showdown of politics at the dinner table on Thursday, warm up with us for the return of Sketchy Nights at Miyagi Records Sunday November 24th from 3-630. Grab your pencil and sketchpad and delve into soulful crooning and braggadocios raps with the sounds of Jay-Z's American Gangster and Marvin Gaye's I Want You. James Allen Jr. and Nicholas Frazier, host of the Broke Brother's podcast, will be bringing their witty banter and love of the culture to the night while guiding you through curated sketch prompts
Not in town and still want to be part of the night? Enjoy our complimentary preshow at home with our live stream on Discord featuring a set by DJ HI-Speed
What is Sketchy Night???
Developed for artists looking for a hit of inspiration and community, Sketchy Nights is a monthly workshop powered by the Black Yuppie Creative House. Previously enjoyed by staff from the Cisco headquarters, patron of Miyagi Records, and community
Explore themes of our favorite albums while exercising those creative muscles through the art of sketching
Each night will be uniquely tailored around the selected album with a rotating group of collaborators, activities, and surprises!
Network with like minded peers and discover new perspectives through dialogue
Embark in a journey of childlike simplicity while exploring your own life; past, present, and future.
Not an active artist? No worries! Our workshop is a great social alternative to the usual mundane "Things To Do" outing.
