About: The Greater Chicago Food Depository, Chicago’s food bank, started with one purpose – to nourish our neighbors at risk of hunger. And as the needs of our neighbors have evolved, so have we. Our work against hunger has expanded to address the issues that cause food insecurity and poverty.

Date: June 22, 2024
Time: 1:00 pm CDT - 03:45 pm CDT
Location: 4100 West Ann Lurie Place, Chicago IL

Description: You will repack donated and purchased food. The food we receive at our warehouse comes in bulk quantities, and volunteers break it down into manageable sizes.

Role: In a Repack session you may sort produce, inspect and box shipments of bread, or repack bulk dry goods (pasta, rice, beans) into smaller quantities.

Purpose: Together, we can properly and efficiently distribute quality food to participating food pantries, soup kitchens, and shelters in Cook County.

This is an open event, all are welcome!

Age restriction: 11 years old and up or 11 years old when accompanied by an adult.
