Join us on Sunday, August 25th for "Weathering The Seasons: Grief Day" a Seed & Soul Wellness retreat. Scheduled in preparation for National Bereavement Day on August 30th, this event aims to provide a nurturing and healing space for individuals navigating grief. Utilizing Creative Arts Therapy, Yoga, Meditation, reflective practices, and group processing participants will explore grief through the changing seasons. Yoga and Meditation guide Sihnuu Hetep and Creative Arts Therapist Imani Shanklin Roberts will facilitate this retreat. Sihnuu and Imani will provide expert guidance to help participants navigate their grief gain self-soothing tools, communicate their needs, and set intentions for healing.

Sihnuu Hetep: With over a decade of experience, Sihnuu Hetep is a respected 500-ERYT/YACEP certified yoga and meditation instructor. Her extensive training includes trauma-conscious yoga, yoga therapy, and an advanced understanding of grief as outlined in the DSM-5 framework, equipping her to offer compassionate support to individuals navigating complex emotions. Sihnuu is known for her skill in creating inclusive, culturally sensitive wellness spaces and is dedicated to community well-being in Washington D.C., and beyond.
Imani Shanklin Roberts: Imani Shanklin Roberts is an esteemed Art Therapist specializing in guiding individuals through liberation, grounding, and inner peace using creative tools. Her approach, grounded in Humanism, Social Justice Competencies, Feminist Therapy, and Gestalt Therapy, empowers clients to navigate stress, grief, and trauma with resilience and self-awareness.
Event Highlights:
Welcome and Introduction: Begin with a grounding exercise and reflect on how the metaphor of seasons relates to your grief journey.
Spring Session: Experience gentle yoga and meditation designed to encourage emotional renewal and clarity.
Summer Session: Engage in expressive art therapy to explore and articulate your emotions and grief.
Fall Session: Participate in mindful movement and learn self-soothing techniques to support emotional integration and release.
Winter Session: Create affirmations, engage in guided journaling, and share reflections to embrace personal renewal and growth.
Reflection and Group Discussion: Conclude with a supportive group discussion, sharing experiences and insights from the day.
